How much do you charge for DJ hire in Perth?

The amount that we quote will depend on the scope of the work to be completed. To give you a rough idea, our prices start at around the $400 mark.

We think our prices are pretty competitive and represent genuine value. You will find many DJs on Gumtree, offering to DJ your party for as little as $200. Keep in mind you often get what you pay for in terms of their professionalism and experience.

We’d love to chat to you about the specifics of your party, so we can see whether we’re a good fit for what you need and give you an exact quote.

Why should I hire a DJ instead of using a playlist or streaming service?

This is a question we come across a LOT, and there are so many reasons why spending money on a DJ is a very sound investment (pun intended) in the experience you and your guests will have.

Music will make or break your party. It’s that simple. Therefore it’s very important you get it right. This means playing the right stuff at the right time. A DJ will respond to the mood in the room, gradually increasing the tempo and energy levels of the music. A DJ will respond to requests and ‘beat match’ tracks (this means the transitions are virtually seamless).

A playlist, on the other hand, will mix hugely different genres and tempos, with large awkward silences between songs. Its rare to even make it through a song completely, because some muppet grabs the player and puts on what they want to listen to, which is almost always terrible. When all these factors combine, the dance floor rarely takes off. And is that really how you want your special night to go down?

What kind of music do your DJs play?

Astute song selection is a huge part of our craft, and we hold the Full Effect motto, “Classics, not clichés”, very close to our hearts. We present sets that have been meticulously planned prior to the event, rather than ‘winging it’ and awkwardly smashing together different genres and tempos. All sets are skilfully beat-matched, harmonically mixed and designed in collaboration with the party host to be a reflection of their own personality and tastes.

Some of the musical genres which we will incorporate (based on your guidance) are 50s, 60s, Classic Rock, Pub Rock, Old School Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, 80s, 90s, Top 40. The emphasis is on fun, and making people dance.

What kind of equipment do you work with?

Our DJs work with the latest technology from JBL (our wicked speakers) and Native Instruments (controllers and software). Our arsenal of effects lighting includes two very unique quad mini moving head units from Blizzard Lighting that were specially imported from American, and the Chauvet Geyser – a smoke machine which emits coloured jets of smoke. We can provide the full technical specs. upon request, but suffice to say this gear will make your event look and sound totally badass.

Do you do DJ equipment hire without a DJ?

We can meet the needs of your party, whatever these might be.
By negotiation, we can hire out any of our equipment on a 24-hour basis. Please contact us to discuss how we can help.
